CfA: Experimental Humanities Workshop on “Visual Civic Literacy”
The workshop will take place on Saturday, June 19, 11–14:00. Together with Marsha Siefert, Cold War media and cultural diplomacy expert at the Central European University, and Jeremy Adelman, expert in global history and director of the Global History Lab at Princeton University, the participants will analyze the visual languages of the protests of 1968 and the BLM movement. Building on this knowledge, the workshop participants will create their poster-interpretations of both events. The participants are going to reflect on how political identities speak through visual symbols and slogans in order to use the public visual space more mindfully.
Every participant will receive a certificate of attendance. The best posters will be selected and awarded. However no digital drawing skill is required for participation.
If you would like to attend the workshop, please send a short expression of interest to email@example.com. Do not hesitate to ask any additional questions.
